Cleopatra Evans Jones

02 May 1922 - 14 January 1995 Color: Royal Blue

Cleopatra Jones married Phillip Henry Jones in 1944. Cleopatra was affectionately known as “Patra” and was a woman with a meek, humble spirit and a sweet disposition. She gave her life to God in her early years and it was her mission to spread the word of God to all who would listen and a few who didn’t want to.

She had a strong sense of family and quickly defended them when necessary. She loved people and always had something good to say about everyone. Her children often teased her by saying, “If you could find something

good to say about the devil, you would.”

She met and married the late Bishop Phillip Jones, Sr. (Uncle Junior) and resided in Sun, Scarbro, and finally Beckley, WV. She was a homemaker and left her mark on the lives of those who were blessed to have known her with her undying faith, love and trust in God. While on her bed of affliction she never failed to acknowledge the good things God had done in her life. Even in sickness, she joyfully awaited her home going, her favorite song was “I’ll Fly Away”.

Children to their union include: Evelyn Jones, Phillip Jones (deceased), Phyllis Green, Carolyn Coats, Andrew Jones, Yvonne Law, Drema Hackett, Michael Jones, James Jones, Donita Beard, Cheryl Hutchens, Rhonda Dean
